The Nordic-Baltic MDB meeting will be held at Scandic Vulkan Hotel, Maridalsveien 13A, 0175 Oslo, tel. +47 21 05 71 00.

For practical purposes, we also recommend the same hotel for accommodation. The hotel offers special rates for participants of the Nordic-Baltic MDB Meeting. For hotel booking, please send an e-mail to vulkan@scandichotels.com, where you type the following code: BUTE 230120 in addition to your name, credit card number and expiry date.

In case you would like to spend the weekend 24 to 26 January in Oslo, we have negotiated a special rate with the same hotel.

Transportation from Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the hotel/meeting venue

We recommend the comfortable and climate-friendly Airport Express Train (runds with 10 minutes intervals during most of the day and evening.) It will take approximately 20 minutes to get to the Central Train Station in Oslo. The price is NOK 196,-.

From the Central Station you can take a taxi to the hotel (approx. NOK 200,-).

If you arrive in company with other delegates, you may want to go by taxi from the airport to the hotel. Upon arrival look up the taxi counter in the arrivals terminal and ask for an “airport taxi”. The rates are the following:

  • 1-4 persons: NOK 789,-
  • 5 persons: NOK 1.039,-
  • 6-16 persons: additional NOK 120,- pr. extra passenger

After 17:00 there is an additional fee of NOK 200.

If you are 3 people or more travelling together, these rates match public transport (however, make sure to agree on this fixed price at departure from the airport as other taxi companies could be considerably more expensive).

Cultural Activity

We are planning an outdoor cultural activity in the afternoon of 23 January, starting at 16:00. It will be a guided historical walk down along the Aker River, touching upon the industrial revolution and the working-class neighbourhood. As it will be winter in Oslo in January, we advise you to dress warmly, and in particular for this event. We recommend comfortable, warm footwear, scarf, warm gloves and winter hat. The activity will end by 18:30. We kindly ask you to confirm your participation in the registration form.

Dinner

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is honoured to invite you to a dinner at Nedre Foss Gård, Nordre gate 2, which is approximately a 5 minutes’ walk from the Scandic Vulkan Hotel. Please confirm your participation in the registration form and kindly indicate any dietary restrictions.
